I had to buy two space heaters for my house, since my heat is off. It's just a matter of someone coming and getting my furnace going and then we will be all set. I hope it doesn't get TOO cold in the meantime, but I got these heaters. They needed a little bit of assembly and my son did it, and he said to me "I'm getting to be quite the handyman, aren't I?" and I said "Well you kind of need to be and you're doing a good job." Then he said "I wish dad was still here, I wish you two were still together" UGH. And I said
what I USUALLY say "I'm sorry Buddy" and HE then said "
I guess he just had a different plan than we did." How awful insightful of this 13 year old young man, don't you think? He is
absolutely right. He is growing and maturing quite nicely and I am so proud of him. I just wanted to share this with you all. He is still hurting and he can verbalize it to me instead of acting out in anger and that my friends is
growth. Thank you GOD.

He definitely is hon. That statement alone makes him more mature than a lot of adults I know. (Hugs)Indigo
A very clear and mature comment from your young man...and I do hope they get the furnace on for you soonest.
Where do normal people come up with this stuff? I would NEVER had thought of something like that.
How cool is that? Someitmes the things we think are bad, are really blessings in disguise. jeNN
Ya don't see much of THAT kind of 13-year-old insight and behavior. God bless him--and YOU!
PEACE!
The hammer does NOT work on fleas--you were right. I hit my own head...instead.
This is beautiful, Q. Growth, indeed.
That is awesome! My boy is 15 and the last 2 years have been a time of AMAZING growth!
Being honest with our kids about the hard stuff is not the easiest thing to do. You have been, and it is paying off for your boy. Being able to verbalize is a huge coping skill. Good news!
Yup that experience right there is so wonderful! Acceptance at it's finest.
If we could all be that accepting and mature when we relate to eachother and speak of eachother, we'd be a lot more spiritually fit :)
What an awesome beautiful boy..er... young man!
He has a good understanding of it to say that there was a different plan. Sometimes no matter how much we plan, it doesn't work out. I'm glad to be able to let go of those kinds of plans as much as possible. Good for your boy. He sounds very intuitive.
